Ayala Center together with Ballet Center Cebu and Marco Polo will be presenting Romeo and Juliet, a full length ballet performance at the Onstage, Ayala Cinema 1 on August 24, 25, 31 and September 1. One of the oldest and most active art organizations in Cebu will be celebrating the farewell performance of the International premier danseur Nicolas Pacaña which makes this show extra special and personal to the Ballet Center.
“Why full length?” I asked Mr. A or Gregory Aaron, co-artistic director of the Ballet Center, during the presscon. “Are there ballet shows that are trimmed down to size?”
“There are shows that only have the balcony scene or the ballroom scene,” he replied. “Our show will have that and more.” Even if Mr. A wants to keep mum about the set, I’m pretty sure it will be fabulous! Watch this short clip of Mr. A talking about the programs they do in little communities to reach out to others through ballet.
Meet guest artist, Katherine Trofeo, a principal dancer, brilliant ballerina from Ballet Philippines as Juliet. Say hi to Tito Nick Pacana!
