Erratum: Quote from Loalde’s Creative Director Nia Durano-Aldeguer
Fish18 is a celebration of fashion, graphics, and urban culture, taking inspiration from the streets, the youth, and its energy. They are always in the present. They are about what’s new and what’s now and this new brand focuses on raising curiosity and interest; hence, the ambiguous and random brandname.
“Fish18 is a trendier and younger collection that focuses on vintage fabrics, modern cuts and designs and graphic arts,” says Nia Duran0–Aldeguer, Creative Director of the Loalde Group. “Our target market are teens and anyone in their 20s to 30s.”
Fish18’s two main product lines focus on Mix Media Treatment and Graphic Design. Their Mix Media pieces incorporate embellishments such as buttons and appliqués and use vintage fabrics from the 70s and 80s, which they acquired from the Loalde archives, making each piece distinctive and singular. Their second product line plays with graphic design, the artwork being the main design element of each piece. Taking it a notch higher, they also offer 3D graphic T-shirts, which will be sold with disposable 3D glasses, the better to appreciate them with.
“What we are primarily about is creativity and we take pride in making novelty pieces, not mass produced ones. Apart from being a store that houses an extensive variety of well-designed products, Fish18 is above all a lifestyle experience.” – Chris and Nia Durano-Aldeguer
