Who says it is too late to have the MAC Spring Colour 2 Forecast collection? Spring season after all in the Philippines is during March until the first weeks of April (according to my calendar) and I was lucky to be able to grab these pots before they run out.
The MAC Spring Colour 2 Forecast is a gorgeous collection of corals and peaches that is perfect for almost all Philippine season because we hardly have any other seasons besides summer and rainy, oui? MAC Cosmetics officially released the Spring Colour Forecast last February 11, 2010 in USA. I didn’t see these babies at the MAC counters in Rustan’s and I didn’t have time to go to Glorietta or MOA so I’d have to say that the set pretty much ran out before they even propagated.
MAC’s Spring Colour 2 Forecast also goes with Lipglass (gloss) shades of Cha-Cha, Ember Glow, Kumquat; lipstick shades of Colour me Coral, Fresh Salmon, Rose Maiden, and Victorian; and eyeshadow shades of Hot Hot Hot, Nanogold, Perky and Straw Harvest; Nail lacquer’s Malibu Peach and Blush Ombre in Ripe Peach. They are almost pretty much in the same hues as the Crush Metal Pigments: Stacked 2 photo that you see here. Don’t you just love how the stacked jars minimize makeup bag space?
The Crush Metal Pigment shades are pale gilded beige, yellow gold, green gold, copper gold and contained in four stackable jars, specially selected for the Spring Colour Forecast collection. It “provides intense colour payoff and medium coverage with highly reflective metallic sparkle. Creamy, crease-resistant. Long-wearing. Limited edition.”
MAC Spring Colour Forecast Crush Metal Pigment ($32.50). This is my haul that I bought at the Hongkong Airport Duty Free. I got the MAC Spring Colour 2 Forecast: Stacked 2 because the MAC lady said in halting English that the colors will work well on my skin. No lipstick or blush here. How sad! That is how limited it is. Oh, and while we were going through the MAC counter at the Hongkong Airport Duty Free, guess who we saw?
Hahah! Philippine celebrity Mylene Dizon! Isn’t she pretty even without makeup? I had Jayboy (who only knew Mylene after I told him who she is) pose with her gamely. She was with Agot Isidro, too, who was toting a maroon Goyard handbag. Lovely! So for a slight swatch watch – here it is! Used the gilded copper gold on my right eyelid and the yellow gold to highlight the brows.
I think corals are making a huge impact this spring. Even if the metallic shades are not subtle, it does complement Asian skin even if you are shy when it comes to playing with pigments! Think about using them at the beach and the iridescent sheen will look hot under summer sun. I love the green/olive shade, too, perhaps I will be making an FOTD about that soon. 🙂
