Event organizer extraordinaire Tim Yap said that he heard from Preview editor Pauline Juan that their best selling Preview cover was June 2010. It was their anniversary issue with Georgina Wilson on it on the cover. Georgina and Borgy Manotoc also flew to Cebu to shoot for Zee Lifestyle’s October 2010 issue (catch photos of the shoot from Mikey’s blog here and Zee’s cover story on that issue here.
Signs like that are proverbial and when Preview’s October 2010 issue featured Kim Chiu and Cebu, I knew that we are going to be meeting the style force that is the Preview Editors team soon. Preview celebrated their anniversary in Manila at the Star Magic Ball in June 2010 and decided to head south for a Cebu-version of their anniversary by inviting the selected few to join them at the Penthouse. The invite begged everyone to be in their crystal-studded form and I guess this was the perfect time to “think outside the bauble”. So much pressure to dress up especially when one of the editors of Preview mentioned in live television that Cebu “wasn’t fashionable” before! Daryl was in Cebu that night and I’m pretty sure she was more than impressed and the stylish people of Cebu made one fashionable night so effortless.
Admittedly, I took great pains in deciding what to wear, guys! It wasn’t easy! There were so many choices of bauble to choose from until I finally settled on a necklace from Smitten Accessories by Debbie Go. Perhaps it could be a tribute to her because Debbie is now in New York for school and might temporarily close Smitten until she gets back.
My favorite accessory that doesn’t even have to do with Preview Magazine’s crystal theme were these gorgeous Michael Kors™ Juniper Espadrille wedge in White Gold Metallic – a gift from the mother superior when I last went to CDO for my birthday.

It is dazzling! Made of synthetic material, basket-woven upper, rubber soles, and adjustable ankle strap with side buckle closure, this almost 5-inch beauty is very chic! The woven leather straps are mighty uncomfortable after hours of wearing it and I had to place Dr. Scholls on my toes to prevent blisters and corns all over my feet. So frustrating! Although it is kind of hard to walk around in these after several hours, I could not resist wearing them repeatedly. I love it so much – again, thanks mama! Did I hear someone say, “The Vain don’t complain?”
