Let’s face it. After lugging around a DSLR – all 0.99 lb of it not to mention the camera bag and an extra lens – for almost two years has given me moments when I was close to throwing in the towel and leaving the blasted thing at home all the time. In fairness to the camera, who has definitely served its digital purpose, it has really given me amazing shots that I wouldn’t trade for any point and shoot in the world. But again, when you are wearing 5-inches heels, decked out in sequins and hair all dolled up, carrying around a black Canon DSLR is not exactly the best clutch in the world.
These are the times when I wish I didn’t give away my point and shoot to my sister. Being a Canon user since birth, the brand’s latest Ixus models with glamorous colors really made me hold on to my finances tight. This isn’t going to be easy!
CANON IXUS 1000HS
At just 22.3mm, the stylish IXUS 1000 HS is the world’s slimmest, fully-flat compact digital camera with a 10x optical zoom lens.
Users can take advantage of the Best Image Selection mode which automatically selects the best of five continuously taken shots. This process is so quick that users can start taking the next shot with virtually no lag time.
Night scenes can be captured in their original mood with the Handheld Night Scene without having to use a tripod.
The new High-Speed Burst mode makes it possible to shoot up to 8.8fps (frames per second). At such high speeds, capturing critical action shots has been made easier.
The CANON IXUS 1000HS also records Full HD movies (1080p) with Stereo Sound with a dedicated movie button and playback using the Super Slow Motion movie mode for a dramatic theater-like feel.
Motion blur is moderated with the help of the Dynamic IS technology whereas emphasis of the subject by background blurring, known as the bokeh effect, is possible using the new Miniature Effect in movie.
Canon IXUS 1000HS comes in brown, silver and pink.
Should you trade in your DSLR for these babies? *wink*
