I have a verrry good memory of the 90s when I stalked, drooled, ogled and worshiped Eraserheads for five years until they disbanded. It was no secret that I held a torch for Ely Buendia and having claimed countless times that he was going to marry me someday. Until now I still kept tabs on his life and in my mind told Diane Ventura, his wife, that she best take care of him and cannot imagine anyone else being married to Ely but her. Pak!
Imagine my excitement when I just got news that Ray Ban’s style icon is none other Pupil – Ely’s new band now! Emerging as true rock ICONS, the members of Pupil have continued to endure the ever-changing music landscape. In this style-driven era we are in now, looking the part is just as vital.
Asked on what they would consider the most iconic RAY-BAN eyewear, Pupil all agree that it would have to be the much-loved wayfarers. Why you might ask, Ely adds that “[because] all the cool cats wear it.”
Gah — Ely. in. wayfarers. *fans herself*
Presenting the 2011 Rayban Icons!
The Comeback Icons
Originally released a little over 40 years ago, RAY-BAN debuted the Signet to much acclaim as a fashionable, sophisticated update to the already classic Aviator shape. The Signet delivers a bold classic look which is much smaller than the previous one with its rounded oval lenses. This iconic eyewear is available with ribbed double metal brow bar and cat eyed corners with rounded end pieces covering the shiny sleek temples. The Signet also comes with gradient (Php8, 990.00) or polarised lens (Php12, 990.00) options. Ah, like living wills, these pairs are totally to die for. Pun and all.
Inspired by The Beatles legend John Lennon, the RAY-BAN rereleases the classic Round Metal frames. This icon features gray metal furnishes, round frame, smoke lenses, white signature on lens, wire arms with black ends, and of course 100% UV protection. Other variants also come in gentle green coloured lenses that are more than flattering against the skin. The Round Metal also comes in gold frames with green G-15 mirror lenses with signature logo and wire arms with contrasting acrylic tip.
You can get these iconic frames for Php10, 490.00.
