Famed home-grown clothing brand Plains and Prints teams up with Filipino fashion designer Rajo Laurel with its Spring Summer collection for this year. Designing for 20 years, Rajo’s distinctness comes from creating pieces of workmanship and artisan quality – also an integral part of the Plains & Prints style.
“I have always found space travel intriguing; in my mind, I often imagine how women would look like 100, 200 years from now,” reveals Rajo Laurel. (Philstar)
This fascination with the future, space and technology inspired him to create a futuristic and fashion-forward collection for Plains & Prints spring/summer 2011 aptly titled “Space Odyssey.”
“Rajo has put great attention to detail and function carefully choosing fabrics, colors, and patterns. His goal is to create pieces that will make every woman feel and look as beautiful and glamorous as they possibly can. With the use of fluid garments, bright sophisticated colors, and with cuts that complement a women’s physique, his latest collection for Plains & Prints dresses the fashion-forward women of today.”
“I always begin my collection with a story and it is no different with this latest collection for Plains & Prints,” enthused Rajo. In a move only Rajo Laurel could pull off, he created an 11-episode series (11 being his favorite number) of videos that capture his design process through visual clues, delivered ingeniously in codes.
Check out some of 11-piece set he made for Plains & Prints. Keep posted for the Plains and Prints + Rajo Laurel launch at SM City Cebu in future posts! Plains and Prints is located at 2/F SM City Cebu and 2/F Ayala Center Cebu.
