I saw a really unfashionable photo of Sarah Jessica Parker circulating around the internet and a mean poll on why she is the most unsexiest Sex and The City character yet it did not for a moment deter me from ever stop hearting Sex and The City’s Carrie Bradshaw. Of course we’d have to thank celebrity stylist Patricia Fields for such creativity but then again, if you don’t have a stunning model like SJP, your creativity will go pfft.
We’ve all been regaled with stories of how every Sex and The City merchandise is selling like (can I say) pancakes and why that famous gold aviators from Mykita & Bernhard Wilhelm shades are sold for a limited period only. SM Cinema is also giving away Sex and The City freebies if you join their contest. Whew! Don’t you just think this is the most excitement the fashion industry has had in 2010?
Sex and The City 2 fashion to watch out for:
Brian Atwood Loca heels
a Halston Heritage cocktail dress
custom-made Manolo Blahniks
a $50,000 Chanel lamé dress and overskirt on the karaoke scene
Dolce Vita boots
jewelry from the Blonds
Samantha’s glittering Balizza maillota
$1,400 Roland Mouret dress by Miranda
a glittering Pucci gown in Abu Dhabi by Carrie
Miranda yellow (Bottega Veneta dress) when they first all meet at Bergdorf’s
Lastly, we have yet to watch out for this limited edition Viviene Tam HP laptop solely made for this sequel from 2008.
Yes, Carrie’s MAC has been booted out for this movie. No pun. Costume designer Patricia Field has also declared that white plays a large role in the movie because “the action takes place over seven weeks during the summer. I’m going for a new look and new elements,” says Field. The girls are allowed to keep the clothes but 80 percent of them are borrowed so naturally they’d have to give them back. Nixon says, “And the jewelry, unless it’s very inexpensive, we have to buy it.” So is the $10M worth of dont-you-wish-you-could-wear-them-even-for-one-night wardrobe true? Who cares! That is one of the reason why we are watching them anyway. Michael Patrick King wrote the movie during the recession but didn’t cut back AT ALL. The stylist did everything to “bejewel and beturban” them enough for us to think that there will never be a Sex and The City 3 anymore – ever. More so — the movie will be showing next week, June 2 at the Ayala Cebu and SM Cinemas! Can’t wait to watch it with the girlfriends and some exaggerated Morocco-inspired outfits to wear on Sex and The City 2 Night. This looks like something from the Cebu Style Files archive! Are you as excited for the movie as I am?
