One of the best advices on how to travel light and store your makeup in your luggage was to transfer some contents into a plastic dispenser and hope for the best. This means that I am not a firm believer of those dispensers you buy in Watsons for P60 per 3 vials just to scoop your makeup and ruin their composition. Yes, you can transfer your shampoo or conditioner in those little bottles but I’d be wary about doing that to precious makeup.

Take for instance this Shu Uemura (Loose) Face Powder in Matte. For $39, the plastic container looks super durable and the powder is finely milled that you’d hate for it to go to waste. It is heavy but then again the container limits the amount that you put on the puff (convenient with very tight fish netting so powder doesn’t overrun). I love that it doesn’t have any smell on it and it doesn’t cause breakouts.

Shu Uemura Face Powder Matte

This Shu Uemura face powder doesn’t really have that staying powder compared to other loose powders that I’ve tried and although this was part of InStyle Magazine’s “Best of” list, there is nothing extremely extraordinary to this powder.

I realized that because the powder texture is so fine, you’d think that it is almost colourless until you overdo putting it on and THEN you’d start to notice that, “Hey, now that’s the function of the face powder.” The Shu Uemura face powder has a soft matte finish with long lasting effects and very comfortable on skin, without drying. There is a specific puff designed for the semi matte to matte finish effect that you’d want to get. You can wear is over moisturizer or without foundation on. Best finish for those photo-ready shots! 🙂

Shu Uemura Powder

Perhaps saying that this face powder is colorless instead of translucent makes it all attractive and new. It would be nice to repurchase  but then again $39 is too much!  I reckon there might be another chance to go see a different face powder and claim infidelity by the time you realize it is far better than this. But that would be a long time considering it might take a while for this baby to be all empty.
