Last July 15, Trappings, held AZUL: The Fashion Show, a Mabel Paredes line of accessories and the debut of Justine Gloria’s Hair and Makeup team!
Thanks to Formo‘s amazing PR team, I was able to orient myself with the brand that has been selling crafty and artistic accessories made by hand. An accessory brand by Mabel Paredes, our eyes were dancing to her one of a kind bib necklaces, earrings, tassels, and rings. Even that denim tube dress was such a huge hit!
I talked to Mabel and she was kind enough to indulge me and yes, you readers, in this brief autograph –
Full name – Maria Belinda S. Paredes
Age – 35
Occupation – None, concentrating on trappings
Favorite item in the closet – shirt and leggings
My idea of a relaxing time is – listening to music ,drinking coffee and getting a massage
My friends say I’m – a very accommodating host because I make them feel at home whenever they come over and visit . They say I’m creative in more ways than one. As to what that really means, I don’t know, I’ll leave it up to them
Best shopping finds are found in – bazaars and online stores (Amen!)
The one thing I know now that I wish I knew before is that — if you want something you should plan well and go for it. I used to be scared of being criticized. Now, I try to learn from all the criticisms that I hear. There will always be someone that would criticize you but those are the people that motivate me to do better everyday. And besides, it gets my creative juices flowing even more and that is exactly what I need if I want to be successful.
Meet Mabel Paredes with April!
And let’s not forget the team who made our models’ Marian Quitevis, Ione Enriquez, Anne Monteclar, Julia Garcia, Summer Shafer, Jee Candelasa, Grace Velasco, Di Reyes, Janina Berciles, ANgel Cabatit, Bianca Asuncion and Jinky Gualberto extra prettier that night – congrats Justine Gloria Hair and Makeup Team!
I asked Justine (above) how long she had been doing makeup professionally. She said: “I’ve always enjoyed doing make up when I was young although I wasn’t quite sure what I was doing. I’ve always known that I’d be involved either in fashion or events because it’s something that I really had fun doing. When I met Jessie Glova three years ago, I was very inspired with his skill, professionalism and passion so I took up his make up course. He encouraged me to be serious with my craft so last year around July, I decided to give up my corporate day job and went to Manila to study Beauty and Fashion Make Up in Maquillage Professionel, Make Up Forever. When I came back from Manila, I’ve been doing Weddings, Special Events and Advertising Make Up ever since.”
Justine enthused about the huge turnout too. “Thank you to everyone, friends and family who came and watched the fashion show,” she says. “Thank you to my beauty team during the event. And to my fiance Richard Sharpe for all the love and support.” Awwwww. We saw Richard full of pride, too, Justine!
