Product & Sample Review
Honestly, I haven’t tried BB creams in my lifetime so I can’t really compare. Sorry to be an idiot but the first time is always the best time, right? As a trying hard beauty blogger, I have to educate myself on whatever gunk I place on my skin for the purposes on actually knowing why my skin reacts that way and if my skin will continue to react that way. Sixty percent of whatever we place on our skin goes into our blood stream which is essentially important to choose our products well. In this imperfect world of ours, we cannot always have it our way. But Purederm tries and with their Purederm 3 in 1 Magic BB Cream now out in the market, I have to say that the attempt was very much appreciated.
Purederm 3 in 1 Magic BB Cream P660
Moisturizes and protects your stressed skin. With SPF30 PA++, it blocks out UV A and B rays from the sun. It’s waterproof feature makes sure that the 3-in-1 attributes remain against water and sweat. Enriched with natural and herbal tea extracts increases skin elasticity and improves skin conditioning.
Why you’ll love it:
Because you can afford it compared to Dr. Jart (P1,700)
Because my skin is bordering on dry-combo, Purederm Magic BB Cream actually stayed on for several hours on my skin.
SPF 30 – to protect from UV rays, both UVA and UVB
Skin conditioning – natural extracts that increase skin elasticity
No weird smell
I didn’t break out
Covers slight imperfections of the skin with its medium coverage
Best oil control, minimal retouch
Packaging – pink, silver and SEALED
Available locally, Watsonsingredients include Glycerin, Dimethicone and even Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E Derivatives
Why you’ll think twice about using it:
For dry-combo skin types, the texture of the cream is dry. Dry on dry? SMH.
They have parabens (suspected to cause problems like weight gain, skin aging and certain types of cancer)
It only has one shade
Finish is matte, dry; If you prefer a dewy look, this isn’t for you
Doesn’t cover deep dark scars
What’s special about Purderm’s BB cream is the shade – it only has one. The average Filipina skin tone is warm and anything this light looks ashy on the face. Hello, copy and paste look? But then again, that is real job of the BB cream – to lighten one’s complexion while moisturizing and protecting your skin against the sun with its SPF. Although it is supposed to even out your skin tone (which I have to say something worked in that area), I feel like I had to sand paper my way into the application process.
When and how to apply:
After cleansing your face, Purederm’s 3 in 1 Magic BB Cream may be used alone, as a makeup base or after your daily moisturizer. I blended this with foundation right after to neutralize the lightness. Set with loose powder (optional).Since the cream is thick, applying it with your fingers may be toooo messy. Try using a sponge or a dense brush.Apply 30 minutes before swimming. I feel like having foundation on in the beach!
For fair skinned women who have oily skin types
So would you try Purederm’s 3 in 1 Magic Cream? I heard Purederm’s Pearl BB Cream is best for dry skin types so I might be heading in that other direction in the future. And is it true that BB creams are the secret behind those really fair skinned Koreanas? *wink*
